HOMES

HOMES is FamilyAid Boston’s supportive affordable housing program for parents and children.

Dorchester HomeIn response to the scarcity of affordable housing in Boston, FamilyAid Boston created the HOMES program. We currently have 27 units of housing (a combination of agency owned and managed properties).

The HOMES program is unique among affordable housing programs in both the independence and support it provides to families. HOMES apartments are located in small multi-family buildings in neighborhood settings, providing families the opportunity to engage in their communities while avoiding the stigma sometimes associated with large affordable housing developments. While allowing families the independence they need to establish themselves in the community, FamilyAid Boston continues to provide supportive case management designed to build upon families’ strengths and address their challenges, all with the goal of long-term stability and independence.

We are currently looking to add more affordable units to the HOMES program. If you are a building owner interested in selling your property in the city of Boston, please contact Director of Housing Development & Property Services Zach Sherman at 617-542-7286 x246 or zachs@familyaidboston.org.
